Show #51:
September 21, 2005
The Creepy Crawl - St. Louis, MO
w/ GitoGito Hustler, The Spunks, Diamond Nights, The Vacation, Dead End Kids, Aueroline
Notes:
We were worried. Very worried. Ol' Mancuso Shows got ahold of this one and that makes us worry. Suddenly a 3 band plus one TBA line-up becomes a 7 band line-up where Left Arm is all but written off the show. But here comes Jeff Creepy to the rescue! This man rules. He's been running a mighty tight ship around that place lately. We got there and their stage manager guy had a little laminated card with the night's schedule, which luckily included LA. A few kid bands played. They were okay. Their parents and fashionable schoolmates were whipped into a frenzy. Then they left. The Vacation were really really good. They put on a great show. Then Diamond Nights played. There was quite a bit of build up about these guys and they were okay. Let's put it this way, we were sandwiched between 4 touring bands and this was definitely the band to follow.
We played what Jim described as, "the best set I think we've ever played!" We totally ripped. Then GitoGito Hustler played. Ohhhh man, they're sooooo gooood!!! Four little cute Japanese playing 50's inspired rowdy rock n' roll - and smiled all the way through their set! (In broken english: "Puhleez buy owr merchindize so we can buy beeeer!") One of the best bands we've ever seen, let alone played with. The Spunks closed the show out with more raw punk rock fireworks.
