The Stagger Inn - Edwardsville, IL
w/ The Locked Sound and The Dammit Boys

Notes:
I got back to Edwardsville a few songs into The Dammit Boys set. I was coming from my 10 year class reunion in Collinsville. I thought things would be different, but they were exactly the same. Nonetheless, I had a good time seeing some of my old friends. By the time I got to the Stagger everyone was running up to me telling me how "fucking awesome" the Dammit Boys were - and they were! Much has been said of their drummer's 30" bass drum, but it's seriously amazing. Very little has been said about him walking around with his balls hanging through the zipper on his pants. This is far less amazing. Even a little frightening. But truly, the Dammit Boys were right on.

Next up were our boyfriends, The Locked Sound. Their second time facing the mighty Stagger Inn and they conqured once again. This time they had their new bass player (number 180 or something like that), John, in tow. He fit in like he'd always been the man for the job. Of course, people were loving them - and we were loving them. Excellent.

Left Arm was up next...wowzers. This will be forever know as "dude, remember that night Left Arm ended their set with a massive bar room rumble? Fuckin' awesome dude! Best show ever!" We had some...off stage hijinks...during our third song. We persevered through the madness and finished our beer, booze, and hostility-fueled set. Come the very last note, guitars and punches fly - ultimately leaving the stage a bloddy and chaotic pile of rubble. Then we went to Denny's. Mmmm, ranchy sausage.
