Show #48:
August 11, 2005
Way Out Club - St. Louis, MO
w/ The Oscars, Two Girls, Schaffer the Darklord, ArsoNick Scum
Notes:
Mostly a pretty sleepy Thursday night at the Way Out Club. We knew the show should get started early because there were 5 bands playing, though I'm pretty sure we were the only ones aware of this given Sherri put us on last minute. Had some fun nonetheless. Met some cool people.
I thought we'd play first because we were out on last, but Two Girls played first. Real fine dirty garage blues duo from Peoria, IL. Then ArsoNick joined them on vocals for 2 righteous songs. A definite highlight of both sets! After that ArsoNick Scum from Bloomington, IL continued on by singing along to some stuff that he had pre-recorded. Schaffer the Darklord from NYC did some rapping, then our old pals from Memphis the Oscars played. Dude, I forgot how much their drummer slams! He was hell on that bass drum. After their set their bass player, Scott, got mugged/robbed on the way back from 7-11. These two thugs pulled up, jumped out, beat him up, knocked him down, and stole his wallet. Geez, welcome back to St. Louis guys!
After all that we played. Fast, dirty, and focused! Left Jeff got to play his brand new guitar rig and it sounded great. Much better than those tiny duel Vox practice amps.
